Job Description
Under general supervision, the Innovation Specialist will perform programmatic and operational duties to provide consultation, technical assistance, and training to change makers developing social innovations and other novel. This role will also contribute to and lead special projects, including those related to execution of the five-year strategic plan, and produce products and other written materials such as blogs and project summaries. The Innovation Specialist will collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, such as but not limited to the Help Me Grow National Center and Injury Prevention Center. They will also support the North Hartford Ascend Pipeline, a place-based, cross-sector initiative integrating schools, community, and social services to help children and families living in Clay Arsenal, Northeast, and Upper Albany reach their full potential by: 1) supporting a coordinated pipeline of services; 2) supporting a parent-, family-, and community-driven agenda; 3) embracing targeted universalism to achieve equity; 4) strengthening families’ protective factors; 5) supporting early identification, referral, and linkage to community and social services and supports; and 6) supporting data collection and analysis to monitor.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the program director, identify and engage change makers developing social innovations supporting the healthy development and well-being of children, families, and communities.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and follow-up of consultation sessions (i.e. Masterminds) with change makers, including the development of a short-report.
- Conduct landscape scans and literature reviews to stay up-to-date with emerging trends on topics including but not limited to social determinants of health, early childhood development, and human-centered design.
- Co-design and lead trainings on various topics, such as the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework.
- Co-design and implement individualized technical assistance packages, including developing materials such as but not limited to presentations, final products, data collection tools, and project reports.
- Co-design and implement cohort technical assistance packages, such as communities of practice and learning communities, including developing materials such as but not limited to presentations, final products, data collection tools, and project reports.
- Co-design and implement strategies to elicit community input on the design, implementation, and evaluation of social innovations, including developing materials such as but not limited to presentations, final products, data collection tools, and project reports.
- Monitor and document progress against project work plans.
- Support implementation of change management, quality improvement, and process management strategies.
- Support the development of scopes of work, project timelines, and identification of project deliverables.
- Facilitate presentations on the work of Childhood Prosperity Lab and specific projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively problem-solve.

Education and/or Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 1-3 years of related professional experience
